Alright, So I wrote and took these images back when we still lived in Portland a couple years ago. I can already feel the seasons changing again and you might as well start thinking about your fender game. I still stand behind every word of what’s written below and never travel anywhere without a set of Musguards in my bag. You never know when the it’s gunna rain.

“With winter right around the corner, Musguard send over some of their fenders to help keep us dry this season. It’s about to start getting real wet here in the Pacific North-West as we ramp up to another 9 months of rain. Here are some photos of my setup from last year as things were starting to clear up. Musguard offers the best, and I really mean “THE BEST” fender system/solution out there. They roll up nice and are easy to keep with you everywhere you go. They basically live on my bike or in my bag 9 months out of the year. I highly recommend them to anybody with a track bike looking for fenders. You won’t be disappointed.”
“It does what it does”. Robert Gaines, better known as @EIGHTYXPROOF made the long journey from Australia to San Francisco to film this. With an alleyway in Chinatown as our backdrop, we shot this quick rundown of his MASH Steel Build. He walked us through his setup and gave some pointers for those looking to build a bike that can do “just about everything for you”.

“What happens in the black hole, stays in the black hole” – said the quote on his t-shirt. Olek Mendoza is rad. I met him a couple years ago when I was visiting in San Fransisco and was hyped to see someone his age finding a love for fixed gear. He was one of the first in a new wave of riders hitting San Francisco. Makes me wish I found out about track bikes when I was his age instead of wasting my youth on rollerblades.
Olek always has the cleanest builds and I’m glad we got to shoot some photos of him riding his MASH AC1 before he swapped it out for a LOW. Check out more photos below and throw Olek a wicked sweet high five for me the next time you see him.

Five years ago was the last time we made a kit. In those five years the amount of custom cycling kit manufacturers has seemed to double. Everyone is now offering exclusivity, premium cuts, aero dynamics, and low minimums. With all these choices, and the old kit showing signs of wear, it was time to make a new kit and put one of those manufacturers to the test.

Ed Wonka crossing the Williamsburg Bridge in New York. We took these photos a couple years ago when Ed worked at Chari & Co. They recently closed up the shop they had in the Lower East Side, but we’ll always be grateful for them giving us a place to kick it in the middle of the day.

Alright, so there’s a story behind this frame. It used to belong to Eddy Bach, but was then sold to Joe Flannery to build up. Joe kept all of the original stickers on the bike including the one that says (E. Bach) haha. Anyways, you can’t beat the look of that triple triangle geometry. This one is extra flossy with the Wound up, AARN chainring and Salsa stem. Check out more photos below as well as a complete parts breakdown.
Yea the frame used to be Eddy’s and he just had it laying around and I was looking to get a new track bike so I decided to pick it up off him. He says he wants to buy it back from me eventually but I don’t know if I can get rid of it.

Tadashi Nakamura recently came to LA and spent a few days at our house in Venice. We went down to the boardwalk / Santa Monica Pier to play some arcade games. I bought Tadashi a ticket to ride the bumper cars and got a kick out of a bunch of 9 year olds smashing into him. Got it all on video. We kept it pretty mellow this day and stacked a handful of beach clips for the video we were working on. I’m really happy with how it turned out and cant wait to share it with all of you. Until then, here’s some stills.

Caspar Dennehy brought his GTB build by the studio for some quick flicks before we moved from Portland. He’s a ripping musician and came by a handful of the rides we hosted out there. Even making an appearance in our last Super Bowl video. Anyways, track bikes are the best and this triple triangle setup is no exception. It has a whole illuminati thing going for it. Triangles on top of triangles. We especially like the black on black Wheel Talk sticker lurking on that top tube. We see you. Check out more photos below as well as a complete parts breakdown. Can’t beat the bargain bin.
