HARNESS THE GNARNESS VIDEO

It’s a wrap folks. After a couple weeks in the editing booth this is the official coverage of the first Harness The Gnarness Jam in Oakland. Big thanks to everyone who came out to ride, film, kick it and make this event such a good time. It couldn’t have been done without you. We plan to make it a series of Jams hosted by different riders in the city of their choice. So keep your ear to the ground because this may be the first, but it certainly won’t be the last. I’m pretty sure I shot more photos on 35mm film than I did on my digital camera this year and have a box full of prints to show for it. If you ever come by the house, ask me about it and I’ll show you. Yesterday I went riding around San Francisco w/ Anthony Combs who crashed out in the little bungalow beneath my bed the night before. We checked out the new skatepark they built beneath the highway and rode some spots in the surrounding neighborhoods. Mike laced Anthony up the new aluminum TURF Cranks, sprocket, and a front hub. The find of the day definitely had to be the load of florescent lightbulbs we found wedged into a street can in the TL. It’s been a while since I’ve ridden with Anthony but I guarantee that you’ll be seeing a lot more of him in the near future.

Every so often the dudes from San Jose come up to stay at our pad in the East Bay and ride over the weekend. Jimmy Watcha, Kent Ly, and Luciano Ortiz are just a few of the local riders from SJ that you should keep your eye on. After a long day of riding street spots in Oakland, we hit up China Town to grab some cheap grub before riding back under the bay through the Webster Tube. Check out more 35mm Photos HERE.

ALAMEDA SKATEPARK SEND OFF

After more than 3 months of surfing the couches at our pad in Alameda, Dew Sippawit & Jaoa Danaikrit reluctantly flew back to Thailand last month. We celebrated their final day in the States by kicking back and cutting loose at the local skatepark. A couple of dudes from San Jose drove up the day before to ride and bid the Thai boys a proper farewell. We stacked a ton of footage while they were here, and just got back from a trip to China, so keep your eyes peeled for more of Dew & Jaoa coming in the near future. Mike Schmitt & I have lived under the same roof for a while now, and have been stacking a ton of footage during that time. It makes it easy to film having somebody else who rides living one room away. Here’s some long angle shots I took in between filming clips across the East Bay. That’s our dude Jaoa Danaikrit crouched on the steps like a ninja with a camera in his hands. It was good having the Thai dudes in town with a second camera so we could shoot multiple angles on our weekly excursions. Keep your eyes peeled for the clips to accompany these photos.
