Mike Schmitt took Michael Penrose on a tour of some of the greener parts of San Francisco and filmed this one day edit of their excursion. I’ve been real stoked on all of the videos TURF has been putting out now that MTS has a camera of his own. Expect to see a lot more content coming out of the Bay Area, and keep your eyes peeled for Michael’s section in the upcoming Wheel Talk video.
Nothing brings a family together like the Super Bowl, and we couldn’t agree more. For this year’s big game, we hit the streets of San Francisco for a day filled of false starts, interceptions, city poop, field goals and the occasional trick or two. I woke up Sunday morning, made a couple calls and met up with the dudes downtown where we rode from the late afternoon until the sunset. This is what you can find us doing on any given weekend. On thursday night we flocked to SOMA Skatepark like a pack of carnivorous seagulls and squeezed in a quick session after work. Attendance at the park is relatively mellow on a weekday and once the sun sets they turn on the lights making the place even brighter than it is during the day. Dee.Rock is a regular fixture here in the streets of San Francisco and always hangs out at the park to shoot photos of the locals shredding. I hit him up on instagram and he graciously sent me a bunch of shots from this session, check out more below. Photo Credit – Derek Chamberlain (Dee.Rock)

In light of the 3 day weekend that happened recently, we piled into the back of the Rack Solid Van and took a day trip to ride some spots that are typically out of our reach. Mike Schmitt switched his drivetrain over to the other side and banged out a couple quick crooked grinds for the camera before we left the spot in search of other gems like this. I shot the angle from below first and then climbed up Mike’s back and onto the roof to shoot separate angles from over head. Considering the fact that none of us own a car, it’s great that we’re able borrow the Van and explore other parts of the Bay. Big thanks and shout out to our dudes over at Rack Solid.
With another solid year behind us, we figured we clean out our closet and release SHREDWELL2 to the public. Filmed over the course of 2011-2012 this 38 minute long, full length motion picture features riders from the Grime Team as well as other influential members of the FGFS community. Stop what you’re doing, press play and enjoy. Happy new year from TURF & Wheel Talk.

Every time I get a roll of film developed it’s like a Christmas present to myself, and this one was no different. I nearly forgot that I brought my trusted 35mm camera along with us when the TURF Mob went camping along the coast. We piled into the back of Dave Beard‘s car and headed to the beach where we spent the day fishing, drinking, and hanging out by the fire. We had to bring Egg The Dog along with us considering the fact that he loves the sand and ocean more than anybody I know. Dew & Jaoa spent a lot of time fishing while they were here and I don’t think they managed to catch a damn thing besides this crab scurrying on the rocks. Check out more photos below.

With the rain holding up for the day, we took advantage of the cloudy weather to ride in the eye of the storm we seem to be stuck in. Gus Molina took the ferry into The City to meet up with us and ride around Japan Town. Ramon Antonio & I both stacked a couple rail clips to add to the ever growing pile off footage we’ve been sitting on. Mike Schmitt found this hubba and thought he had a spot until the run up proved to be too short, so we quickly labeled it “wack” and moved on. As quickly as I mentioned it stopped raining, it went right back to dumping buckets and looks like its going to continue to do so for the rest of the week. Check out more photos below, or lurk through photos from some of the other Sunday adventures we’ve had in the past.
