Living in San Francisco, I rarely get the chance to ride transitions. It’s street or nothing. So last week when we were riding by Potrero Skate Park in the Mission, I had to make a stop and ride it. At a place like this, the best thing to do is just drop your bag and start riding, before the locals get a chance to start shouting shit. They usually quiet down once they see you can hold your own. Here’s a look at my current Specialized PFIX build. I just recently got on the production model PFIX after riding the same prototype frame for 9+ months. I decided to rattle can this one something special since I’ve been riding a nearly colorless set up for what feels like years now. It’s hard to tell who’s who when everyone’s bike is murdered out.
Matt Rice popped off this photo of me hopping over this chain to bank when we went to Oakland to ride some uncharted street spots. Taken a while back, I completely forgot about this until I saw he posted it earlier today. Looks bigger than I remember.
Mike Schmitt took this photo of me riding one of the abandoned military bunkers lining the coast of San Francisco. I’ve been riding SADIO parts + components for nearly a year now, and I’m still on all the same parts I started with. The guys out there in Thailand are all homies, and the SADIO Team is one of the best in the business. They’ve got a whole new line up of light products coming out in Spring. Keep your eyes out for that and much more coming out from them in the near future.
Found this advertisement on iMiNUSD’s Blog this morning, here’s what they had to say. “Our boy JeffyD caught this photo of IMD Rider Matt Reyes ripping through this dirt berm at Calabazas a while back. We never used it for anything, so we decided to chop it up into this little ad. These guys sure do love dirt.” Credit : Jeff Dempler
Mike Schmitt caught this slightly over exposed shot of me while we were out filming in the Persidio last weekend. This tuck no into the steep/muddy grass bank was one of the last things we captured before the sun set on another mint day in the city. With tuck no handers it’s all about folding up like a lawn chair and touching your shoulder to that front wheel. They are almost like barspins, you just have to throw those bars.
Here’s a screen shot from our group session in the city just before the holidays. Some of you may recognize the spot from Steven Jensen’s Skylmt edit, others might because the green ledges beneath the freeway is one of the best spots in SF.
Here is a little minute long montage of footage that I shot during the last week of September. Everything from footage of the Bicycle Film Festival in San Francisco, to my cat Stella hanging out on the couch while I put this together. This is more of a lifestyle piece than anything, and after making it makes me want to do day in the life edits of everyone. Maybe even an episode of Cribs, we’ll see.
