I met up with Johnathan Ball in downtown Los Angeles and filmed this with him in a couple hours. JBALL has been riding fixed gear for forever and all those year’s of riding FGFS makes it really fun to watch him wield a track bike. Just look at those bar spin combos and fish n chip rotations. We’ll have to get together and film with JBALL more often.
Shout out to the lvl. 9 homie JEF for making the soundtrack.
Tadashi Nakamura has traveled from Japan to the States to stay with us on 3 separate occasions now. Each time we lived in a different city. First San Francisco, then Portland, and now Los Angeles. He’s been up and down the West Coast and we’ve filmed a video together in each one of those cities.
I’m really excited to release the video we shot for Chari & Co here in LA. We accidentally broke my fisheye on our first day of filming so we had to shoot things a little differently this time around. It was kind of a blessing in disguise really. It forced me to shoot differently and re-imagine how we come to the table. It’s important to mix things up every once in a while. Don’t want to get stuck doing the same thing over and over.
Shout out to Chari & Co for lacing us up and keeping us stoked on bikes. I’m pretty sure Tadashi stained every white t he owned by the end of this trip. What started out white would quickly turn grey by the end of the day. We had a lot of fun exploring alleys, getting sweaty and occasionally rolling around on the concrete. Keep your eyes peeled for the video piece as well as more photos coming out in the next couple weeks.

Things are really starting to take flight for the Tracklocross community. It’s been rad to watch everyone come together and organize these races on a seemingly global level. With branches popping up all over the world the vibes are only getting stronger and the momentum is growing.
The second race of the season happened over the weekend here in Los Angeles and this time it was on a contained course. Making it easier to run around and shoot photos at different parts of the track. Shout out to everyone who helps organize these events and facilitate all the moving pieces. It’s because of people like you that we get to show up, kick back, crack cans and enjoy the good times. Check out more photos below, and we’ll see you at the next one.
Well I made it to the mountain, but didn’t end up riding much of the actual race or dirt sections of this on / off road alleycat. Shout out to everyone who towed me up the hill, LA TRACKLOCROSS for throwing the event and Golden Saddle Cyclery for letting us loiter. There’s another Tracklocross race happening this Saturday and this time it’s going to be on a closed course. More details HERE, check out screen shots from this video below and we’ll see you at the next race.
What goes up, must come down. Damian Riehl borrowed my helmet cam setup and tailed me down the hill on the ride back to Golden Saddle Cyclery during the first Tracklocross race of the season here in LA. We’ll have another video highlighting the race later this week, but for now enjoy this follow cam footage. Check out more screen shots and such below.
AP took me on a tour of LA’s Downtown last week and we ended up running into Chris Thrasher in the process. This was only my second time riding in downtown since I moved here, but I can already tell that I’ll be spending a lot more time down here. Especially these crappy alleyways. Just don’t touch anything.
AP reached out to me on Instagram earlier this week and wanted to meet up to ride. We met in DTLA where he gave me a quick lay of the land considering it was only my second time riding there since the move. We grabbed some $5 Chinese food, found a place to eat it, then shot some photos and filmed a one day video that will come out next Wednesday (4.17.19). Mark your calendars and until then enjoy this photo set.
