I was looking through some older photos on my computer and came across these two shots that Seitaro Iki took of Ed “Wonka” Laforte riding a double peg down a rail in down town Oakland. These were taken back when we were still filming for Word Is Bond and were shot on the same day that Ed did the huge hanger at the end of his section. Check out an alternate angle below or browse through more of Seitaro Iki’s Photography HERE.

Yesterday I went riding around San Francisco w/ Anthony Combs who crashed out in the little bungalow beneath my bed the night before. We checked out the new skatepark they built beneath the highway and rode some spots in the surrounding neighborhoods. Mike laced Anthony up the new aluminum TURF Cranks, sprocket, and a front hub. The find of the day definitely had to be the load of florescent lightbulbs we found wedged into a street can in the TL. It’s been a while since I’ve ridden with Anthony but I guarantee that you’ll be seeing a lot more of him in the near future.

Tobi Whaley and I collaborated on making a kit out of the “Aerodynamics” graphic I recently released. The development of this kit has been in the works for a while now, and is just now coming into fruition. It’ll be rad to see Wheel Talk on more people than just those in the Fixed Gear Freestyle community. Pre-orders have closed, but hit up Wheel Talk Road on his social channels and he might be able to do something for you. Read more below to check out other shots and close ups of the kit.

Every so often the dudes from San Jose come up to stay at our pad in the East Bay and ride over the weekend. Jimmy Watcha, Kent Ly, and Luciano Ortiz are just a few of the local riders from SJ that you should keep your eye on. After a long day of riding street spots in Oakland, we hit up China Town to grab some cheap grub before riding back under the bay through the Webster Tube. Check out more 35mm Photos HERE.
After flying over 5,900 Miles over the pacific from San Francisco to China for the 2014 Fixed Gear Open 6 in Beijing I had seen a lot of places and met even more people. Dew Sippawit & Jaoa Danaikrit met up with me out there shred and stack clips as a team. Dew threw some huge tuck no hander to barspins, 180 tuck no handers, nose manual to barspins, and ended up winning the Freestyle event. Jaoa Danaikrit came in a close second and I won the high jump clearing 105cm. It was amazing to see so many talented young riders in China and inspiring to watch Ines Brunn ride who has a stye unlike anybody I’ve ever seen. I don’t think I’ve ever taken so many photos, signed so many autographs, or smiled so much in my life. Thank you for all the riders who love this community enough to put on this event and make this sport happen.

Tomorrow morning I’m waking up and hopping on a flight to China for the 6th annual Fixed Gear Open in Beijing. Dew Sippawit & Jaoa Danaikrit are going to meet me out there for the event and to shred whatever street spots we can while we can. I’ve stocked up on memory cards, film, socks and am ready to set sail on another trip overseas. Keep your eyes peeled for photos from all of us during our stay out there.

With only 30 available, these 3/4 sleeve baseball shirts are going to go fast. The 3M reflective print is designed to light you up at night, and keep you safe from those rogue cars on the streets. While the bald cat and arrows on the back are there for those concerned with wind resistance and shaving seconds on the track. Head over to our store and pick one up HERE before they’re gone for good. Each order comes with decals and an assorted sticker pack, available while supplies last.

As we gear up to release the video from the Wheel Talk trip to Japan last year, I dug up a bunch of photos that were never posted. Between Seitaro Iki and myself, we shot a ton of stills and even more video. Documenting everything from our daily expeditions around whatever town we were in that day, to our nightly pit stop at Yayoiken for dinner. Keep it posted for the video release, until then check out more photographs HERE. Photo Credit : Seitaro Iki & Matt Reyes
