MATT REYES + WHEEL TALK 2013

August 13, 2013

Big thanks to everyone who helped me film this, there’s too many names to list, but you know who you are. If you both ride and film then I’m sure you know how hard it is to catch clips when you’re behind the lens all the time. Filmed during the course of 2013 in both San Francisco and New York. After riding on both ends of the US I’ve come to the conclusion that the West Coast needs more cellar doors. They were by far my favorite bit of riding street in NY. To add to that last thought, NY needs more hills because that’s where some of the best spots hide. It’s already been a good year for Fixed Freestyle, and I have a feeling it’s only going to get better.

MATT REYES | WHEEL TALK

April 16, 2013

Anthony Combs took this photo of me on my weathered and aged Specialized PFIX. I’ve been on the same frame for nearly a year now, and have grown so attached to the beaten look that I don’t want to hop on a fresh frame. The custom colorway is an easy differentiator that I feel like I’ve become directly associated with. Who knows maybe I’ll swap out frames in time for Ride & Style, only time will tell.

MATT REYES + SPECIALIZED 2012

January 23, 2013

Here’s a video I chopped together using a bunch of footage from late 2012. I’ve been riding for Specialized for a couple of years now, and they’ve done a ton to help push me into getting where I am today. Big thanks to JeffyD, Mike Schmitt and everyone who helped me film this. Sometimes it’s real difficult getting clips of yourself when you’re always stuck behind the camera. Filmer/Rider dudes, you feel my pain. I’ve been shooting like a mad man since the beginning of the new year, so be on the lookout for more edits coming out the pipeline.

MATT REYES | PFIX COLORWAY

December 6, 2012

Last week I popped off a few photos of my most up to date Specialized PFIX, w/ the help of Anthony Combs. Personally, I don’t think my bike has ever looked this good. Nice and broken in, w/ a hint of battle scars to prove it. Yet still as solid as the day I first put it together. People always ask me when I’m going to get a new frame, and I honestly don’t know. This one has held up for so long, that I don’t plan on switching it out anytime soon. Read More to see what’s good under the hood.

2013 SPECIALIZED PFIX

August 28, 2012

Here’s a look at the 2013 Specialized PFIX. I’ve been helping Specialized develop this bike for the last 2 years now, and have been there since the beginning of it’s creation. It has the same geo as last years model, but comes equipped w/ improved parts + components. We gave it a new chainring, top load stem, rims, and a better saddle for starters. We’ll be developing an updated geo midway through the year, so keep your eyes peeled for pictures of that coming soon. It’s available now at iMiNUSD and other Specialized dealers.

FILMING IN PROGRESS

June 20, 2012

Just started filming for a new web edit. I don’t have as much time to ride during the work week, so I’ll be filming mostly on the weekends. Lemme know if you’re in the city, and want to meet up to ride. I took this photo through the fire, while we were BBQing in the park the other day. There’s nothing like grilling up some burgers and dogs w/ the homies on a hot Summer’s day.

MATT REYES’ PFIX

April 8, 2012

Here’s a look at my current Specialized PFIX build. I just recently got on the production model PFIX after riding the same prototype frame for 9+ months. I decided to rattle can this one something special since I’ve been riding a nearly colorless set up for what feels like years now. It’s hard to tell who’s who when everyone’s bike is murdered out.
