All the usual stops. We took Jake 100, Isa, Grady, JN and a bunch of the other homies on a tour of downtown Oakland back in January. It’s always good having out of town energy come to a place you’ve been time and time again. Helps keep it fresh. I can’t imagine how many times Andy has ridden bikes at Dragon Park. It’s easily one of the best ledge spots around, you just don’t want to fall, but that’s like most cities I imagine. The ground isn’t always the cleanest place to be. One more quick note… I love shooting these no foot wheelie kicks at the camera with Jake 100.

Oakland California – January 3rd 2020. I took the subway from San Francisco to Oakland with Jake 100, Isa, CBreezy, JN & Grady to ride bikes in the East Bay. Jakob Santos, Andy Sparks and a bunch of the usual suspects met up with us for a day wheelies around Downtown. We pulled over at some of our favorite spots around Lake Merritt before ending up at Jack London Square for the Sunset. I won’t waste too much time with words on this one, so stop listening to me immediately and press play already. Oh yeah, I quickly whipped up the soundtrack for this one too.
Venice beach has always been a hub for freestyle bike riding. One of the first things I did when I moved to LA was watch a relentless amount of 80’s BMX videos of some of the founders of the freestyle movement riding at Venice. It’s an amazing feeling pushing pedals on the same piece of earth as the legends that came before us.
Knowing your history only makes your future brighter and Andy Sparks is a testimony to that. He’s one of the few riders I know that’s well versed on his 80’s BMX history and that knowledge comes through in his riding. Both with the tricks he has up his sleeve and his unwavering respect for the sport.
Jake 100 came to town with a handful of the homies late last year. We met up twice while he was out here, once in DTLA (Video HERE) and once at Venice Beach for a more laid back session by the sand. With Summer quickly approaching I’m looking forward to the city reopening the beaches so I can go hop in the Ocean and kick it by the biggest pool in town. West coast, best coast. Until next time Jake, we’ll have to make our way out to London sometime.

First stop, Town Park. Jake 100, CBreezy, JN, Issa & Grady met up with me at the Civic Center Bart Station in San Francisco where we to took the train to Oakland. After a few quick stops we hopped off the Bart and rode to Town Park to meet up with the rest of the crew for the day. Santos laid it down as usual, Andy Sparks gave us some of that signature flare, Gus Molina caught a quick clip and the London Boys supplied the rest of the action.

Jake 100 came to LA and brought the crew along with him. Whenever somebody comes to town to ride bikes I always love to play tour guide. I’m still getting used to living in LA so it was fun getting to explore some new things with some outta towners. I met up with them in front of their hotel in DTLA and we set off on another whirlwind adventure. I took them to some of my favorite spots, mainly the banks along the river and the weird entrance underneath one of the bridges. After that we rolled around for a bit and they took me to the top of a parking garage they discovered the night before. A week after we filmed this I met back up with them in San Francisco where we continued the good times. Keep your eyes peeled for more media coming from that trip, and until then enjoy this video.

With the year coming to a close, I just wanted to take a second to take a step back and honor some of the amazing work that’s come out this year. I compiled a quick top ten of some of the videos that stood out to me and were truly memorable. Really looking forward to seeing what the coming decade has in store.
