BIKE CHECK – JOE FLANNERY’S GTB BUILD

October 14, 2019

Alright, so there’s a story behind this frame. It used to belong to Eddy Bach, but was then sold to Joe Flannery to build up. Joe kept all of the original stickers on the bike including the one that says (E. Bach) haha. Anyways, you can’t beat the look of that triple triangle geometry. This one is extra flossy with the Wound up, AARN chainring and Salsa stem. Check out more photos below as well as a complete parts breakdown.

Yea the frame used to be Eddy’s and he just had it laying around and I was looking to get a new track bike so I decided to pick it up off him. He says he wants to buy it back from me eventually but I don’t know if I can get rid of it.

BIKE CHECK – CA$PAR DENNEHY’S GTB BUILD

October 4, 2019

Caspar Dennehy brought his GTB build by the studio for some quick flicks before we moved from Portland. He’s a ripping musician and came by a handful of the rides we hosted out there. Even making an appearance in our last Super Bowl video. Anyways, track bikes are the best and this triple triangle setup is no exception. It has a whole illuminati thing going for it. Triangles on top of triangles. We especially like the black on black Wheel Talk sticker lurking on that top tube. We see you. Check out more photos below as well as a complete parts breakdown. Can’t beat the bargain bin.

BIKE CHECK – MATT REYES’ MASH STEEL FRAME (SMOKE)

March 28, 2019

This bike has it all. The MASH STEEL FRAME has quickly become my favorite build and is the closest thing I’ve had to owning a trick track setup in a really long time. It parts the sea between all my bikes and is literally the perfect middle ground between being a fast track bike and a freestyle build that can handle it all, but most importantly… it can bar spin. I can already feel a resurgence of people looking for setups that have the clearance to kick flip. The MASH steel frame + a little longer fork can do just that. Word on the street is that MASH just got ahold of a few Volume Forks from different generations if you’re looking to upgrade. ‘ll put together a video bike check that goes into greater detail soon, but for now enjoy these studio photos and parts breakdown.

BIKE CHECK – MATT REYES’ MASH AC-1

January 29, 2019

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, MASHSF finds a way to one up themselves. Presenting the first Aluminum Frame produced entirely by them. It looks good seeing that big logo. The frame set comes with a full carbon fork that they had custom molded for super tight clearance. This is by and far my favorite graphic color way they’ve released. There’s something about those grays that get me every time. Not to mention I’m a sucker for the whole film esthetic of theirs. Check out a full parts rundown and a handful of other images below.

BIKE CHECK – MATT REYES’ AFFINITY LOPRO 18% GREY

December 29, 2018

Slam Dunk Ernie has a bike of his own, and this is it. Shortly after breaking my collar bone, MASHSF came out with their front rack / bag combo. Immediately knew I’d have to scoop one up for Big Ern. He loves it btw. Anyways here’s what my Affinity LoPro setup currently looks like. It’s really starting to feel dialed in. Everything from the gray Musguards to the gray/white water bottle setup. I really enjoy riding this bike and even more so when Ernie is on it. Check out a full parts breakdown below.

BIKE CHECK – GAVIN REAR’S MUIRANDESSI BUILD

December 3, 2018

The homie Gavin Rear recently came by CHROME HQ to use the studio for a school project and while he was there I took a couple photos of his Muirandessi Track Build. The sparkle paint on this bike is definitely one of the best parts about it. We had to pull the lighting forward and shoot it pretty square to get the sparkle effect to pop. Everytime I see Gavin he’s on a different bike, each one as rad as the last. Shortly after we shot these photos he disassembled this bike and built up something different. We’ll have to wheel his new whip into the studio sometime and get his most current setup.

BIKE CHECK – ANDY SPARKS’ GALAXY FIGHTER FROM NEM PRO

November 11, 2018

The last time Andy Sparks was in town we shot some photos of his bike in the Chrome Industries Studio here in Portland. Andy’s bike is rad because not only did he play a part in designing it, but it’s a cross breed between a track bike and a FGFS build. He’s running 45c tires, a slammed saddle and a bb high enough to keep his pedals from ever scraping in a turn. Check out a complete parts rundown as well as a couple other photos below.

BIKE CHECK – TEO MAZARS’ LOW PURSUIT

January 8, 2018

Teo Mazars came from France to hang out and ride bikes with us in San Francisco. It’s become such a destination for fixed gear over the years that it’s always been rad to meet people from all over the world without ever having to go anywhere.
