Destroy Bikes & Wheel Talk welcome Valentin Racho to the Team. Jeff Dempler has been filiming w/ 16 year old Valentin in San Jose for the past few months. He’s been progressing like crazy in front of the camera and is as consistent as the sun. He’ll throw 180 bars blindfolded and will try whatever you tell him without question.
Daniel Torres just posted this photo of our boy Jeff Dempler piecing together his glide cam, and getting ready to film out here on the West Coast. I’m always stoked to see the homies catching clips and filming, can’t wait to see what they’ve been working on.
Here’s a couple photos that I shot of Mike T Schmitt building up his bike in iMiNUSD a while back. I pretty sure this was the day that he got his bike back from Puerto Rico. I recently got a pair of Medicine Man Bars from Grime Bikes. The new bars have a touch more back sweep, which helps w/ those hard impacts. The relaxed feel of the bars makes for a more comfortable ride, and more forgiving landings. Your wrists will thank you later, when they aren’t being broken off from tricks.
Mike Schmitt just recently got his bike back from Puerto Rico after leaving it there for 4 months while he was in recovery. He was out for a while, but is now back in full effect and rides around the city with me. We’ve been filming a ton and plan to drop a little something when the time is right. Here’s a photo that I took of Devon Lawson posted up next to his Grime Ghost while we were catching some broll for his welcome to the Wheel Talk Team video. I don’t know what we should film for next, but after watching Southern Safari I want to go on another trip sometime real soon.
Zane just dropped this teaser for the 2nd issue of Can’t Fool The Youth. Devon has a full section in this issue, and there’s a huge chunk of clips from our trip to Seattle. I’ve grown to love that Chrome van after all the traveling we’ve done in it. Check out this video and you’ll see what I mean. I can’t wait to watch the full thing, which is going to be premiered at this year’s Red Bull Ride & Style.
There’s nothing better than mobbing around w/ your friends, it’s probably the best part about riding. Hitting obstacles as they come, and crushing shit along the way. Mike and I are constantly exploring Golden Gate Park by linking together different trails. We’re always stumbling upon new spots in locations we thought we knew well. My good friend and roommate Bryan Dempler popped off this photo of us crushing down one of the many off beaten paths.
