As we gear up for the new year, we figured we’d spread a little holiday cheer and release the latest Wheel Talk production we’ve been working on. Devon Lawson & I (Matt Reyes) have been in cahoots with the dudes from Premier Fits for a while now and are just now unveiling our welcome to the team video. Major thanks to PF for lacing us up some sweet headwear and shout out to Anthony Combs for coming through with a quick cameo on the opening clip. Consider this an early Christmas present from us to you, press play and enjoy. Read more below to check out some screen shots and watch the video on youtube.
After burning through a couple rolls of film trying to figure out how to shoot double exposures, I managed to get a few shots that I think turned out half way decent. I’m not sure if Devon Lawson has ever taken a bad picture, but these could be the best shots I’ve ever taken of him. Now that we’re all moved into our new spot in SF, I want to start bringing my Olympus OM1 out with us when we ride more often. Read more below or check out more 35mm Photos HERE.
Dew Sippawit has been staying at our pad here in the Bay Area and whoever else has a couch fit to surf. We’ve been doing a lot more riding on the East Bay this year and have discovered a whole new array of spots in our own backyard. Be on the lookout for photos and videos coming form their stay in the states. Until then check out this photo that Jaoa shot of dew posted up next to his SKYLMT in Oakland’s China Town.

Last weekend I needed to pick up a new memory card, so Devon Lawson & I headed over to our neighborhood Target to scoop one up. Moments after picking up the new card I shot these photos of him hopping through some strange architecture they had out front of the building. We’ve been riding for Premier Fits for a minute now and this western style strap back of theirs is too fresh. Check out more of the headwear they have available at their online store. Either Dew Sippawit has a twin or I need glasses. I took this photo of him while we filmed for his SKYLMT Part after last year’s Red Bull Ride & Style. With this year’s R&S rounding the corner, I’ve grown increasingly more anxious to see everyone, and need to start getting a head count for who will be staying at our pad. The city can haterblock the Federal banks as much as they’d like, at the end of the day there’s nothing that’ll stop us from riding this gem of a spot. Challenge accepted. On a less relevant note, I think I see a Zane beast lurking in the brush.
I shot this photo of Devon Lawson doing a double tire ride along this rubber tube that was loosely attached to some wall in the Mission. There’s nothing like a Burrito from Los Coyotes to give you the energy of an ox and the strength of ten men.
San Francisco is so densely packed with street spots that often times we wander aimlessly in search of new shit to shred. Seitaro Iki took this photo of Devon Lawson hitting an ice pick on this wall rail we found in our neighborhood. I’m usually not that into vertical compositions, but lately I feel like I enjoy them more and more. It could be that I spend so much time working with video that I’m not used to so many vertical pixels. Now I know what you’re thinking, and you’re correct. The “Big D” is Devon’s pro model hat from Premier Fits. Check out some more of Seitaro’s photography around the city HERE.
