In celebration of our Independence Mike Schmitt, Ed Wonka Laforte & I met up in SF to ride, film, light off some fireworks, and get a quick haircut from Mr. Laforte himself. Check out this video that MTS pieced together of our afternoon out on the town and read more to see some screenshots below. WHEEL TALK X TURF BIKES
TURF Bikes just released a new T-Shirt to the mix of products available on their store. Living in San Francisco we rarely see stars, and often times the moon is the only light that makes it through the fog. Pick up one of these moon phase tees before they’re gone for good. Check out more photos below.
A couple weeks ago Mike Schmitt, Ramon Antonio, Andy Sparks, Ian Walker and I met up in Oakland for a chill session at Dragon Park. We kicked it there for most of the day riding bikes & catching sunburns before venturing off into other parts of the neighborhood. Head over to the TURF Website for more.
Ramon Antonio recently built up a new FGFS bike, so we took the time to shoot some photos of it before he runs it into the ground from everyday wear and tear. The definition of a Fixed Gear Freestyle bike has changed dramatically, and it’s wild to recollect on how the evolution of the geometry has changed over the last decade. This might be the farthest thing removed from where we originally started, and I’m not sure if this is the final solution, but it’s definitely a sick looking build and is on the far end of the spectrum. Check out a complete parts breakdown as well as more photos below.
Everybody has dreams and Anthony Combs has dreams to one day sore high over the hoop and dunk his bicycle. With only seconds left on the clock we were able to capture a couple quick photos before the buzzer rang and he scored the game winning shot. Bringing home the title, saving the day and anything else sports related you can think of. He’s been riding Ed Wonka’s signature frame by Capone Bikes for a couple months now and has been real stoked on the upgrade. Be on the look out for a complete bike check of his build coming next week. Until then check out more photos below.
TURF recently started “Fast Fifteen”, a new series highlighting riders from the Mob in a convenient 15 second format. The first one features Anthony Combs at a single spot at an undisclosed location in the East Bay. It’s been a while since we’ve seen any clips of Anthony lately, but his riding is looking as solid as ever.
I managed to grab these photos while we were roaming around the city filming for Ramon Antonio’s Welcome to the TURF Mob video. I still can’t believe that he was able to jump up that loading dock as many times as he did. I took on look at it, and knew I didn’t have hops like that. If you haven’t seen his section yet you can check it out HERE or on the TURF website. It’s riddled full of huge double pegs, toboggans, and suicide no handers. Be on the look out for more coming from Ramon now that we ride w/ him nearly everyday of the week. Head over to the THIETH Webstore for more great shirts like this one w/ the Nike swoosh.
