Ed Wonka looks stupid comfy on anything he grinds, and is the godfather of going big on fixed. Here’s a shot of him racking a feeble across the fish ledge at this year’s Red Bull Ride + Style. He blew out nearly half the spokes on his back wheel dicing one of the biggest 180’s of the day, and had to cut one of his heats short.
Christian “Hambone” Hamrick was out at the Red Bull Ride + Style last weekend riding hard, and showing everyone a little taste of what he is made of. The hitching post atop the quarter was one of the most intimidating obstacles there, I didn’t even go near it personally. Props to anybody who threw themselves up on that 4″ wide box. They had pads on the other side for guys like Oscar Kahn who fell over the other end.
Photographers John Watson and Matt Lingo were at Red Bull Ride + Style w/ their guns in hand. Ready to capture and shoot all the pain, glory, blood sweat, and action that went down at the event. This is one of the few times a year that everyone is drawn together to spend time riding + hanging out with one another. It’s great to see people that I feel are my close friends, but never get to see.
Gus Molina brought some flavor to Red Bull Ride + Style, pulling tricks that most people would never even think of. Take this foot plant tailwhip for example. I’m pretty sure this was the only whip that went down this year, and I don’t think anybody expected it from Gus. Always great to see you man.
John Watson recently released a collection of photos that he took at the 2nd annual Red Bull Ride + Style. This one is by far my favorite out of the set, and shows cases what these events are all about. Bringing together riders + friends from all over the world to spend the day doing what we do best. Riding bikes & hanging out.
