MASH SF + KOSUKE MASUDA HAND ENGRAVED STEEL BUILD

June 5, 2020

I hang out around MASH a lot when Im in San Francisco. One of the last times I was in town I had the honor of photographing this one of a kind love boat in front of the shop. The closer I looked the more impressed I became at the sheer level of detail. Every nook and cranny had a hand engraved element. Most of which felt very fluid and natural. With themes of foliage and water peppered throughout the line work, this bike is truly unforgettable.

THIS BIKE IS CURRENTLY FOR SALE. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS.

Kosuke Masuda – or simply Ko – is Shingon monk who lives in Yokohama Japan with his family. Ko has been exploring engraving on bike and bike parts as an artistic medium. His work is astounding anPd is on full display with this complete bike. It is the only bike of its kind and a magnificent piece of art.” – Insert courtesy of MASH SF

FIXED GEAR SF – IT’S REGULAR

May 27, 2020

“IT’S REGULAR”. Just another day in the neighborhood. Slam Dunk Ernie & I met up with Jake Lanich & Andy Sparks in Downtown San Francisco to ride bikes and do what we always do. We hope that everyone can get back to doing what they love with the ones they love doing it with again in the near future. But until then, here’s a day video of some of the good times we share together on a regular basis. Check out the songs I made for the video below as well as 40 different screen shots. What do you think? Same time next week?

FIXED GEAR SF – HOW TO RIDE YOUR BIKE IN THE RAIN

May 22, 2020

Heavy rains brought flash floods in San Francisco, but that didn’t stop us from going out and riding bikes. This is more of a demonstration than it is a how to but there really isn’t much to riding in the rain. Get yourself some fenders, in our case these “Musguards” and bring a change of clothes if you’re going somewhere. That’s it. After rolling around until our clothes weighed an extra 9lbs, we eventually made our way to MASH SF where Mike Martin gave us both shelter and fresh socks. Shout outs to MASH for always taking care of us. I love a good rainy day in SF. “It’s Just Water” – SMACKTRACKZ

INSIDE LINE EQUIPMENT – XL DELIVERY BACKPACK

April 24, 2020

Chances are that if you seen Jake Lanich riding around town, he’s probably wearing this backpack. With enough space to carry just about everything you own, Inside Line Equipment pulled all the stops in the creation of this bag. I’m pretty sure that Jake just pulls over at the end of the day, opens his bag, and climbs in it for the night. It’s literally that spacious. The homie Evian rocks the same ILE XL Backpack for food delivery but his is orange, and if you know Evian, that couldn’t be more perfect for him. It’s literally his everyday color way.

Check out more photos below and better yet, head over to INSIDE LINE EQUIPMENT to check out more of the rad carry solutions they offer. Whether it’s an everyday bag or one big enough to live in, ILE has it all.

FIXED GEAR SF – LATE NIGHT W/ YOUNG TOOL

April 3, 2020

Young Tool is a hometown hero in the Bay Area. If you know of Tool then I’m sure you’ve seen him work the bars and wild out at any given ride out or hang out spot. Jake Lanich, Patrick Curley AKA “Patrick Fixie King” & I met up with him in downtown San Francisco. The streets were wet, the air was warm, and there was hardly a car on the road in the Financial district. We took full advantage of both that and all of the glowing lights from the new bus terminal and convention center. Looking forward to this whole lockdown business to be over with so we can all attempt to get back to life as we used to know it. Times change, but the will to ride lives on.

FIXED GEAR LA – FIXIE OUTTA TOWNERS

March 20, 2020

These two. If you know em, then you already know. They’re pretty much inseparable, and can usually be found in front of Serranos, or at the 18th / 22nd street Parklets which have all basically been adopted as their second homes. Jake & Daniel’s fits are always dialed in and came baring some of the latest fixie drip. That new MASH SF Jersey looks 🔥. This is the first time I’ve seen the EightyXProof frame set in person. The last time Robert was in town he showed us some line drawings of it and was super stoked. I’m glad to see that one made its way into the hands of Daniel Something. If you haven’t already seen the video we just dropped of these two, then I highly suggest you check it out.

FIXED GEAR SF – ROBERT GAINES CAME TO TOWN

February 13, 2020

With the release of the recent video of Robert Gaines, we figured it was a proper time to post some photos of the man as well. I can’t say it enough, but it’s worth repeating. It was an absolute pleasure having Rob in town. He must have packed a big bag because he brought a lot of great energy with him. Maybe we’ll have to make our way to Australia to shred with him in Melbourne. What do y’all think? Should we plan a trip and make it happen?

ALLEY CAT – DASH 4 THE CASH (SAN FRANCISCO)

February 7, 2020

DASH 4 THE CASH is one of the best races of the year. It’s a straight shot, no bars held, race from the top of Twin Peaks to The Island at the Embarcadero. Knowledge of the city means nothing in a sprint like this. Only your bravery and ability to read / dodge traffic. Think of Frogger, but on track bikes for the entire length of Market. Anyways, Robert Gaines & I were in town to join in and be a part of the festivities.

Shout out to MASH’s very own Mike Martin & Jake Ricker for filming the event. They kicked over the footage for me to chop together into this little video jammer for y’all. Jack washed out at the top of the hill but still managed to take home the Fixie gold medal. The rest of us barely made it down the hill and across Market in one piece. I love that the top of Twin Peaks has turned into a skate haven and is grilled with graffiti. RIP Pablo. Plant seeds everywhere you go and we’ll see you at this year’s DASH 4 THE CASH.
