Last Summer we flew out to Germany to ride bikes and hang out with the homies Jason Sellers & Jaoa Danaikrit. They were amazing hosts and we can’t wait until our next chance to visit them again. Shout out to Tobi for giving us a reason to ride outside our own backyard.
Last summer we went on vacation to Germany and visited our good friend Jaoa Danaikrit. We basically grew up riding FGFS together and he used to come live at our house for 3 months out of the year. This time the tables have turned and Jaoa was the one playing host. He showed me around his new hometown in Dusseldorf and we stacked clips at every spot along the way. It always amazes me the things this dude can do on two wheels.
In the words of Ricky Nelson, Jaoa Danaikrit truly is a “Travelin’ Man”. He’s lived in Dusseldorf for more than a year now and is quickly getting to know everybody in the BMX scene in Germany. It’s been great to see him pick up a pair of 20″ wheels. I always knew he had roots in BMX, but I had never seen him ride anything other than a Fixed Gear Freestyle build until we made this. Everything is better with friends and Jaoa Danaikrit is one of my closest homies. He’s like a brother to me and basically lived in Portland as long as we did. He’s a genuine force of positivity and an absolute pleasure to be around. We were able to create a handful of videos together while he was here, but this might be our favorite creation yet. Tomorrow morning we’re dropping a new video of Jaoa Danaikrit, and it’s gunna be a good one. In light of that, we spent some time sorting through photos from our various film missions and assembled some of our favorites. I was broke off during our last Summer in Portland, so Jaoa stepped in to pick up the slack and stack clips for the both of us. He’s not the hero we need, he’s the hero we deserve. In light of the recent release “Bring Something Back”, we figured we’d make a post of some of the photos from that day. It’s not often that Devon, Jaoa and I are all together these days, so we thought we’d make the most of it while the planets were aligned. We met up in the Pan Handle and made our way through downtown and into Hunter’s Point. It’s always fun seeing what areas you can get into without causing anybody any grief. The City is growing pretty rapidly and a lot of those places are disappearing, but luckily for us there’s still plenty of places left to explore.
During our last trip to SF, Jaoa Danaikrit & I met up w/ Devon Lawson and rode through downtown to the industrial part of The City. A lot of passing the camera around and long cuts in this one. We don’t usually make vlog type videos like this, but this was fun to cut together. Maybe we’ll make more, what do you think?
We all woke up feeling crispy the day after Jaoa Danaikrit’s Birthday. That being said we decided to keep it mellow and spend the day at the arcade. Ground Kontrol is one of our local watering holes and is an endless source of entertainment. Afterwards we decided to take the long way home and go for a quick jaunt through “Forest Park” to show Devon and Anthony some of the other things the great state of Oregon has to offer. I think we bit off more than we could chew when both Jaoa and I started to bonk halfway along the trail. Never the less, we all made it home in one piece. Just in time to BBQ before the sun went down. It was really amazing to have all the homies in town at the same time, and I already miss having Jaoa around the house. We’ll have to get the band back together more often. Until next time.
