WHEEL TALK – DEAD MALLS

January 16, 2020

Footage from my trip to San Francisco in May. All the usual Suspects came out the woodwork to hangout and ride. Jake Lanich rides a minute long wheelie, Devon Lawson rides his new MASH build for the first time, & I bought a piƱata for the MASH Cino de Mayo swap meet. Malls are a thing of the past, but the good vibes live on. Until next time.

FIXED GEAR SF – THURSDAY NIGHT RIDES

December 23, 2019

PKT or better known as “Thursday Night Rides” pop off every week during the summer here in San Francisco. Everyone links up at Bike Kitchen in the Mission and embarks on a different city loop every week. I caught one of them and brought my camera along for the ride. It was nice to only have to carry a single camera for a change. Usually I’m geared up with the full kit, but for this I decided to drop everything off at home and keep it light. Shout out to Patrick Fixie King & Phixed Bikes for organizing so many meetups in the Bay Area. Y’all are really doing great working bringing the community together.

FIXED GEAR BIKE CHECK – JAKE LANICH’S MASH AC1

June 25, 2019

Jake Lanich loves to keep it fixie and is always running the lightest parts on his bikes. In this episode, Jake walks us through his MASH AC1 build in SF’s financial district. A prime backdrop. Especially when the sun is reflecting off the glass buildings at the end of the day. I’m pretty sure it’s decided that those backwards pedaling super sliders are Jake’s signature trick. Anyways, we can’t pump up Jake enough, he’s one funny dude, and an even better friend to ride with. Press Play and check out a full parts breakdown below.

JAKE LANICH “FIXED GEAR’S FLAVOR FLAV”

June 4, 2019

Jake Lanich. What to say about Jake Lanich. Hmmm… Well I guess you can start out by saying that he’s one of the most hyphy riders in the fixed gear community. Yeah, hyphy is a good way of saying it. If you’ve ever seen Jake ride, it’s kind of like watching an episode of “Pimp my Ride” slash that one time Ozzy bit the head off that bat. It’s wild. Like a bat outta hell is what I’m trying to say. Like if Flavor Flav could ride bikes, he’d ride like Jake. Chains out, bikes up, full throttle, you know the deal. Keep your eyes peeled for a bike check I shot of him in DTSF earlier this day and we’ll see you soon.

MISSION CRIT 6 – SAN FRANCISCO 2019

April 23, 2019

Mission Crit popped off this year in San Francisco and I’m still outta breath from it. Hundreds of people flocked to the streets to endure some seriously heavy winds and a day full of racing. James Grady deserves an award for the hard work he puts into this event year after year. We wouldn’t have these good times if it wasn’t for his dedication to the community and love for the scene. Respect and thank you everyone else who helped out, volunteered, or lifted a finger to make this happen. We appreciate everything you do.

We through more high fives than we could count and screamed “FAAASTER” at just about everyone who raced. That being said, we’re going to let words take a back seat from here and let the photos do the talking. Ride fast, take chances, and have fun. We’ll catch you later.

FIXED GEAR SAN FRANCISCO – WHEELIE BOYS 2K18

October 22, 2018

Last month I was in San Francisco riding bikes for a couple weeks. I brought with me the usual slough of camera gear as well as the GoPro / Gimbal setup. It’s really fun to ride around and film without worrying about what you’re framing up. It’s basically a point and shoot video camera. Similarly to the trial and errors of shooting film, I was bummed when I realized I didn’t format the card correctly and subsequently corrupted the rest of the footage we shot that day. Oh well, at least this one clip made it out unscaved so we could chop together this little jammer. Enjoy.
