FGFS PORTLAND – DO YOU THINK YOU’RE BETTER OFF ALONE?

October 17, 2017

Do you think you’re better off alone? If so, come ‘talk to me’. Alice Deejay’s hit single Better Off Alone was the anthem to our weekend. But isn’t it always. Riding is always better with a squad. I guess it’s the strength in numbers mentality that comes along with it. On Saturday we gathered together some of the best FGFS riders the West Coast has to offer, and met up to ride around our new found home in Portland.

We packed our bags, loaded bikes into the Re-Rack Van and headed to University of Portland to kick start our day. After dodging campus security for a few hours, we got what we needed, pushed our luck a little too far, and decided to head downtown for a change of scenery. Jimmy Watcha sealed the deal, and drove the final nail into the coffin with one of the heaviest lines I’ve ever seen. The sun was setting and the day was pretty much over after that. Always finish on a strong note

FGFS PORTLAND – DAY 1

October 2, 2017

Day one and done. It didn’t take much to roast us to the bone. After the first full day of riding in Portland with the boys we were already salty, sore, and thirsty for more. With legs like noodles and arms like peanut brittle we pushed ourselves and each other to keep the stoke alive.

Setting the stage. Ramon Antonio flew Johnathan Ball, Miguel Zendejas & Josh Silva to PDX to film for a video project he’s been wanting to shoot. Although we don’t have a name for it yet, filming is well underway and is already shaping up to be the hot ticket video of the Summer.

FGFS PORTLAND – DAY OUT WITH NELSON BELL

September 24, 2017

Going out with a bang. Today was Nelson Bell’s last chance to shred before he heads back to Seattle tomorrow. We started off slow. Still trying to shake off the effects of the night before, but once we got going, everything felt better.

Nelson’s Destroy frame looks like it’s been to hell and back. The patina is impeccable. There’s so much rust, it looks like it’s been in the ocean for weeks. His rear driver was probably the most impressive part of on his bike. With maybe 3 out of the 10 teeth it started with it was a miracle it even worked. All jokes aside, it was really great hanging out with Nelson these last couple days. Until next time my dude.

He’s in most of the videos we make and delivers and endless supply of technical balance tricks. Here’s a little interview we did with him while he was in Portland Oregon recently. I’ll stop talking now, check out what he has to say.

MATT REYES – BIKE CHECK 2015

After riding the BOMBTRACK DASH for the last 6 months I can honestly say that it’s one of the best FGFS setups I’ve ever ridden. It’s a solid build fresh out of the box and comes complete with everything you need but pegs. The only modification I made right out of the gate was beefing up the gear ratio to something you can really crank down on. The small seat tube and tight wheelbase give it a real responsive feel, that has already boosted my confidence and elevated riding ability. I’m super hyped to be a part of the team and can’t wait to see where we take it from here. Read more below to see a full parts breakdown and a bunch of detail shots.

After nearly 9 months of being out of commission, I finally brushed the dust off the 35mm camera and brought it along on our trip to New York last weekend. Although I only shot one roll of film during the four days we were there, I made up for it by taking a million more digital photos that I’ll be posting up over the next few weeks. We met up with a bunch of the riders from the Block Bullies while we were there and even saw a couple FGFS riders from out of town who came out for the Red Bull Over/Under race. We’re going to start cutting together a video from our trip in the next couple of days and will release that in the next month or so. Until then, check out more photos below.

FGFS SUPER BOWL SUNDAY 2015

February 6, 2015

Nothing brings a family together like the Super Bowl, and we couldn’t agree more. For this year’s big game, we hit the streets of San Francisco for a day filled of false starts, interceptions, city poop, field goals and the occasional trick or two. I woke up Sunday morning, made a couple calls and met up with the dudes downtown where we rode from the late afternoon until the sunset. This is what you can find us doing on any given weekend.
