Fixed Gear Freestyle has done a lot for me over the years and it still continues to give. Good times, chill vibes and an endless reason to explore new places. This video was filmed in the first few months of 2017 back when I still lived in San Francisco. Shout out to the homies Mike, Jaoa & Ramon for going out and filming. Shooting these things is always a team sport.

As we gear up for the new year, we figured we’d spread a little holiday cheer and release the latest Wheel Talk production we’ve been working on. Devon Lawson & I (Matt Reyes) have been in cahoots with the dudes from Premier Fits for a while now and are just now unveiling our welcome to the team video. Major thanks to PF for lacing us up some sweet headwear and shout out to Anthony Combs for coming through with a quick cameo on the opening clip. We’re meeting up at Madison Park (Lake Merritt Bart) and are riding spot to spot giving out prizes at every stop along the way. After burning through a couple rolls of film trying to figure out how to shoot double exposures, I managed to get a few shots that I think turned out half way decent. I’m not sure if Devon Lawson has ever taken a bad picture, but these could be the best shots I’ve ever taken of him. Wheel Talk, Straight Up SJ & Breezy Excursion teamed up to shoot this lookbook for their 2014 Summer Collection. Wheel Talk’s very own Scott Horton was around when we first started the team and now he’s popping wheelies and blowing smoke with his buddies on a much larger scale. Stoked to see him shredding with guys like Roger Regan and the rest of the dudes from Straight up who continue to push not only themselves but the perception of what’s possible on a bike that size. The saying “I just want to do hood-rat shit with my friends” has never rang so true.
I locked eyes on these photos of our dude Anthony Combs up on HMMRDWN and was hypnotized into posting them here. That haunting gaze and ice pick on the now famous Fixie Factory Rail somehow makes me want to eat some McDonalds. Strange. Photo Credit : Jason Sellers
Last Sunday was like most Sundays. Dave Beard came by, we picked up some pizza and cruised around Alameda in search of spots. Here’s a couple photos that Devon Lawson took of me while we were hanging out in The Mission a while back. If there’s one thing The Mission is good for, it’s quality Mexican food and toys that only cost you a quarter. Check out one of my favorite Premier Fits hats from their tropical series. They’re always coming out with some of the sickest headwear and always encorporate wild fabrics / materials.
