It has been hot as hell here in San Francisco (relatively speaking) and we’ve been making the most of it by riding around town while catching a tan and drinking booze out of coconuts. Okay, maybe not that last bit, but it’s been remarkably hot lately. Earlier this month, Mike Schmitt, Bryan Dempler and I went out for a refreshing ride along The Bay where there is usually a cool breeze and some abandoned areas to explore. There’s been a ton of construction going on and these vacant spaces are getting harder and harder to find, which is why I’ve felt the need to capture them while they’re still there. My trusted 35mm Olympus OM1 has become a staple in our arsenal of camera gear, and is the one piece of equipment that I have on me at all times. That being said, Bryan and I played hot potato with the camera as we shot these photos throughout the day. Check out more below and be on the look out for other rolls coming out the pipeline. 07.11.2015

On Saturday the FIXIEBOYZ408 packed their bikes, piled into a van and drove up to San Francisco to ride with us for the day. We met up at 3rd & Army, and then ventured into Hunters Point from there. Our goal was to work our way to Hilltop park and hit whatever spots we found along the way until eventually arriving at San Francisco’s oldest skatepark, The Dish. After that we roamed around the neighborhood until we came across this abandoned school with a bunch of unique things to ride. Keep your eyes peeled for footage of this day coming from both us and the Fixie Boyz themselves. // 07.18.2015

My 35mm camera has lived in the bottom of my bag ever since I got it back up and running a few weeks ago. I’ve already developed a hand full of rolls since then, and have been really enjoying having it back in our arsenal. I rode by the developer after work and picked up these photos we shot during the 4th of July video TURF released earlier this morning. Read more below to check out other photos we took throughout the day. Shot on 35mm Ilford 3200 Black & White film.

After nearly 9 months of being out of commission, I finally brushed the dust off the 35mm camera and brought it along on our trip to New York last weekend. Although I only shot one roll of film during the four days we were there, I made up for it by taking a million more digital photos that I’ll be posting up over the next few weeks. We met up with a bunch of the riders from the Block Bullies while we were there and even saw a couple FGFS riders from out of town who came out for the Red Bull Over/Under race. We’re going to start cutting together a video from our trip in the next couple of days and will release that in the next month or so. Until then, check out more photos below.

Every time I get a roll of film developed it’s like a Christmas present to myself, and this one was no different. I nearly forgot that I brought my trusted 35mm camera along with us when the TURF Mob went camping along the coast. We piled into the back of Dave Beard‘s car and headed to the beach where we spent the day fishing, drinking, and hanging out by the fire. We had to bring Egg The Dog along with us considering the fact that he loves the sand and ocean more than anybody I know. Dew & Jaoa spent a lot of time fishing while they were here and I don’t think they managed to catch a damn thing besides this crab scurrying on the rocks. Check out more photos below.

It feels like only yesterday that Dew Sippawit was surfing our couch here in the Bay Area while we ventured around San Francisco looking for a good time. Here’s some 35mm photos from a recently developed roll, as well as some shots from a not so recently developed roll of film. If there’s one thing I miss about the Thai dudes being here, it’s the authentic Thai cuisine they whipped up for the family every night. There’s nothing like stopping by the asian market to pick up some cheap produce before before heading home to a warm meal and whiskey. Read more below, or check out more 35mm photos HERE.

The longer you wait to develop a roll of film the more of a mystery your shots become. Here’s some 35mm photos I took of Cole Ruffing riding the elementary school in our old neighborhood earlier this year. I almost forgot about this day until I was flipping through prints at Photoworks on my ride home from work this week. Daylight savings time has barely begun and I already long for the extended hour of sunlight they’ve stolen from us. I guess we’ll have to wait until next year, when they switch back the clocks. Until then, check more 35mm photos HERE and read more below for an additional image from this roll.
