Ed “Wonka” Laforte has been in kahoots with Capone Bikes for a while now, and I’ve already seen pictures of his signature frame leaked on instagram. Kai & Young from Capone were incredibly welcoming and hospitable during our trip to Beijing late last year. Read more below to check out some exclusive photos of Ed’s Pro Model Frame as well as a shot of him doing what he does best, tooth hangovers.

Jaoa Danaikrit just posted some screen shots from the Wheel Talk in Thailand video he’s gearing up to release. I remember him spending countless hours working on this video in our kitchen while he was staying here in the states. Keep your eyes peeled for this one because there’s never been a FGFS video with this level of production value. Check out more screen shots of Devon Lawson, Anthony Combs, & Steven Jensen below, or on his Flickr HERE.

Every time I get a roll of film developed it’s like a Christmas present to myself, and this one was no different. I nearly forgot that I brought my trusted 35mm camera along with us when the TURF Mob went camping along the coast. We piled into the back of Dave Beard‘s car and headed to the beach where we spent the day fishing, drinking, and hanging out by the fire. We had to bring Egg The Dog along with us considering the fact that he loves the sand and ocean more than anybody I know. Dew & Jaoa spent a lot of time fishing while they were here and I don’t think they managed to catch a damn thing besides this crab scurrying on the rocks. Check out more photos below.

With the new year right around the corner I took the time today to go through and post some photos from when Jaoa Danaikrit was staying with us in the Bay Area earlier this year. My personal favorite photo from this set is the shot of Jaoa standing next to my Dad (Wheel Talk Team Manager) after a long day at the horse races in Berkley. There’s nothing like betting on ponies, drinking dollar beers, and eating hot dogs while spending quality time with the family. The shot of everybody posted up next to the Rack Solid van was from the day we filmed the “Alameda Send Off” video of the Thai dudes last day in town. 35MM | DEW SIPPAWIT IN SF

35mm - Dew Sippawit - Wheel Talk - Us Versus Them - San Francisco Bay Ferry
35mm - Dew Sippawit - Mike Schmitt - San Francisco - Back Alley Barspin
It feels like only yesterday that Dew Sippawit was surfing our couch here in the Bay Area while we ventured around San Francisco looking for a good time. Here’s some 35mm photos from a recently developed roll, as well as some shots from a not so recently developed roll of film. If there’s one thing I miss about the Thai dudes being here, it’s the authentic Thai cuisine they whipped up for the family every night. There’s nothing like stopping by the asian market to pick up some cheap produce before before heading home to a warm meal and whiskey. Read more below, or check out more 35mm photos HERE.

The longer you wait to develop a roll of film the more of a mystery your shots become. Here’s some 35mm photos I took of Cole Ruffing riding the elementary school in our old neighborhood earlier this year. I almost forgot about this day until I was flipping through prints at Photoworks on my ride home from work this week. Daylight savings time has barely begun and I already long for the extended hour of sunlight they’ve stolen from us. I guess we’ll have to wait until next year, when they switch back the clocks. Until then, check more 35mm photos HERE and read more below for an additional image from this roll.

MATT REYES | WALLRIDE B&W

December 18, 2014

Matt Reyes - San Francisco Wallride - BW 2014
Considering the fact that everybody posts old photos on thursday, here’s some dusty shots that Ramon Antonio III took of me riding in San Francisco a while back. There’s few tricks that offer the same kind of feeling as sitting sideways on a wallride. They’re an immediate go to trick and are a blast to sporadically smash walls on the daily commute around town. I’ve had a couple different run ins w/ SFPD who apparently don’t appreciate the trick as much as I do. I’ve hopped on the curb to catch a quick wallride in the past, then landed and looked up into the eyes of two police officers who immediately struck a pose and attempted to tackle me off the bike. Nothing a little swerve in the opposite direction can’t fix. Photo Credit : Ramon Antonio III

TURF BIKES – SUNDAZE EP.7

With the rain holding up for the day, we took advantage of the cloudy weather to ride in the eye of the storm we seem to be stuck in. Gus Molina took the ferry into The City to meet up with us and ride around Japan Town. Ramon Antonio & I both stacked a couple rail clips to add to the ever growing pile off footage we’ve been sitting on. Mike Schmitt found this hubba and thought he had a spot until the run up proved to be too short, so we quickly labeled it “wack” and moved on. As quickly as I mentioned it stopped raining, it went right back to dumping buckets and looks like its going to continue to do so for the rest of the week. Check out more photos below, or lurk through photos from some of the other Sunday adventures we’ve had in the past.
