This morning I was clearing out the archives I came across these photos from when I first got on Bombtrack and started riding the DASH earlier this year. It’s been more than 7 months since then and I think it’s safe to say that this is by and far the best FGFS build straight outta the box that I’ve ever ridden. The small wheel base feels like a dream and makes it effortless to snap 360s around and sit off to the side of the bike. It’s a completely different beast to tame and has made me fall in love with FGFS all over again. Check out more photos below.

Taishi Okuma flew from Fukuoka to SF not only to ride with us and explore the city but to see first hand why “we out here” has become the rally cry of San Francisco. He has been snoozing out in the bungalow beneath my be while he’s staying with us and has already been here for nearly a week. During that time we’ve stacked a ton of footage, which sounds like something we always say, but trust me, the video from his trip will be coming out sooner than later. Until then check out more photos below as well as a complete list of the parts on his FGFS build.
Aside from the friends section of the video, this is the only other part that has multiple riders grouped under the same umbrella. Anthony Combs, Jonathan Davis, and Christian Hamrick’s part feature a wide variety of locations that spans all the way across the US. Check out some screen shots below as well as the complete 30 minutes of “Word Is Bond“.

Dew Sippawit is perhaps one of the greatest Fixed Gear Freestyle riders of all time, and has traveled all over the world because of it. Last year I had the opportunity to fly to Beijing China with him where we rode, filmed and cut loose during our two week stay there. I keep a 35mm camera in my backpack at all times, and am real glad I packed it on this trip because a bunch of these photos are now living on the walls of our house. While we were filming in this narrow alleyway, Dew found an old bike with two flats and decided to take it for a joyride. We were constantly on the move and rarely stayed at a spot for long due to the insanely heavy amount of security, police officers and armed forces. It was crazy to see dudes posted up with assault rifles all over Tiananmen Square. Keep your eyes peeled for more 35mm photos our trip.
Jimmy Watcha has been riding for Pagan Bikes for a while now and just built up this wild iridescent frame with oil slick paint. I saw he posted pictures of it fresh out of the box on his instagram so when we met up to ride on Saturday I took a moment to snap these quick shots of it. Keep your eyes peeled for a full bike check the next few weeks.

It’s easy to get stuck in the bubble living in San Francisco. It’s hard to leave when you have just about everything you need within walking distance. I’ve lived in the city for 7 years now and have only been across the Golden Gate Bridge a handful of times. So when I met up w/ Bryan Dempler to ride a couple weeks ago we ventured out to enjoy the one thing SF doesn’t have; open space.

The day before Michael Penrose drove back to his native land of Long Beach, I pulled his Bombtrack Dash out front of our house here in San Francisco and shot a couple quick photos of it. He’s made a few minor changes to his FGFS build since these photos were taken, and sent over THIS recent shot of his bike. Check out other photos below, along w/ a full list of parts.

RUFF Bike Co. recently dropped these GC Handle Bars along with a promotional Mixtape featuring their 4 man squad (Matt Spencer, Elliott Milner, Jackson Bradshaw, and Jacob Ruff). Immediately after watching the mixtape I dropped everything I was doing and headed over to their webstore to pick up a pair for myself. Their iconic design and 4 piece construction make them both hard as nails & highly recognizable. Before tossing them on my bike and taking them for a spin, I brought them into the studio and shot these photos of them fresh outta the box. If you weren’t able to snag a pair from the first batch, then keep your ear to the ground because word on the street is they have more on the way. Until then, check out more detail shots below and watch the video they dropped to promote these one of a kind FGFS bars.
