Here’s a photo that Devon Lawson took of me as we were cutting through some back alleyways on our way home one night. We ended up pulling over to cop some photos and session this construction barrier for a while. It was almost like it they made it to be riden. Trick – 180 on half cab off.
Here are a bunch of clips I compiled from what we shot during the month of January. Most of it was filmed in San Francisco by Mike Schmitt and I, but there is a pretty heavy San Jose section in the beginning. Real stoked on the progression of the Fixed Freestyle scene in SJ. Each time I go there it looks like there’s a whole new wave of kids coming out to shred. Press play and enjoy.
Here’s a video I chopped together using a bunch of footage from late 2012. I’ve been riding for Specialized for a couple of years now, and they’ve done a ton to help push me into getting where I am today. Big thanks to JeffyD, Mike Schmitt and everyone who helped me film this. Sometimes it’s real difficult getting clips of yourself when you’re always stuck behind the camera. Filmer/Rider dudes, you feel my pain. I’ve been shooting like a mad man since the beginning of the new year, so be on the lookout for more edits coming out the pipeline.
The other week my boy Ted hit me up saying he was in town. I originally met Ted in Puerto Rico last year, and was stoked to hear he made his way out to the Bay. He surfed the couch like many before him as we spent a week or so rolling around and checking out what street spots SF had to offer.
While Ed was in town we spent a lot of time cruising around at night and eyeing up spots to come back to later during the day. It’s definitely a good way to check out a spot and dream up some lines before you show up to film.
Chrome is putting on a contest to find “the World’s next great street photographer”. Submissions are open til February 4th giving everyone plenty of time to go out and shoot something fresh. Ed has been surfing my couch here in San Francisco while we catch clips and kick it. He’s flying back to New York tomorrow but should be back in the Bay Area sometime soon. The next trip we make needs to be to NYC. See what’s good on the East Coast.
This Saturday we’re premiering Shredwell2 in San Jose at iMiNUSD. We’re going to have a street session before hand while Ed Wonka is in town. We plan to meet up at CCP around 3pm and then roll around from spot to spot before we head to IMD for the screening around 7pm. Bring your bike, your buds, and we’ll see you there.
